These homemade saffron gummies are a fun way to get a taste of our saffron into the whole family's day, made with just a handful of simple ingredients you'll already have in the kitchen.

Ingredients (makes 20 gummies)

  • 100 mL fruit juice — apple, mango, orange, or berry all work well

  • 10 g unflavoured powdered gelatin

  • 250-500 mg ground saffron, depending on how strong you want the flavour

Method

  1. Put 75 mL of the juice into a small saucepan and warm gently. Don't boil.

  2. Remove from the heat and add the saffron, then let it steep for about 15-30 minutes.

  3. Sprinkle the gelatin over the remaining 25 mL cold juice and leave it for 5 minutes to bloom.

  4. Stir the bloomed gelatin into the warm saffron juice until completely dissolved.

  5. Pour into 20 small silicone gummy moulds.

  6. Refrigerate for 1–2 hours, until firmly set.

  7. Keep refrigerated in an airtight container for 5-7 days.
