¾ cup Whole milk
3 to 4 Saffron threads, crushed
1 cardamom pod (optional)
¼ cup Espresso (double shot)
In a small saucepan, place milk and ground saffron (and cardamom if using) over medium-low until hot and just bubbling - OR - If you have a milk frother with your coffee machine, simply add the crushed saffron to the milk and heat and froth as you usually would, then skip to step 3!
Remove saucepan from heat (remove cardamom pod if using) and whisk until thick and foamy.
Pour espresso shot into a mug, and top off with the saffron milk.
Garnish with one or two whole saffron strands if you want to look extra fancy!
